NavitradeShip has an extensive range of experience in the shipping of Brazilian perishable goods, which dates back to the early 1.980’s, when Brazilian exports of animal protein and orange juice increased. Prior to that time, fresh oranges were the only exported volume item of fresh fruit, which started back in the 1.930’s.

Refrigerated shipments during the 1.980’s were almost entirely done in conventional or specialized reefer vessels for destinations such as Europe, North America, Middle East and Far East in which NavitradeShip actively participated.

Since then, our focus has been on servicing the various exporters/importers of perishable goods who use reefer transportation offered by the shipping companies with whom we act as freight broker.

Starting in the early 1.990’s, the transport of fresh produce moved rapidly away from the conventional and specialized ships into reefer containers. When this happened, we became more valuable to our clients by being able to offer them our expertise in the total logistical package of fixing freight agreements, coordination of shipping programs, representing them in case of claim disputes, negotiations with terminals, etc.
